Gendered world
We live in a world defined by gender, so identifying yourself as non gender specific is one-hell of a journey. But that is the journey Norrie May Welby has embarked upon. Norrie was the first person to be officially recognised in New South Wales as neither man nor woman. This month Norrie was granted a 'sex not specified' certificate by the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages but this week the certificate was cancelled leading to considerable confusion and anger.
